The machine eye

Teaching an eye to a tool: spotting the generic, writing taste as constraints, and slowly building a clone that decides a little like I do.

1 part

A machine sees nothing. It recognises, it associates, it returns the average of what it has been shown. That is already a lot, and it is still not a gaze.

This series is the account of an attempt: teaching an eye to a tool. Spotting what gives away work made without a hand on it, naming what an art director knows and a model ignores, writing taste down as readable constraints, and slowly building a machine that decides a little like I do. Without ever handing it the last call: that one does not get delegated, it gets owned.

Read in order. Each part assumes the one before it.
