If AI does the work, why pay a human?
Because it produces the plausible, not the relevant, and it offers everything as equally valid. Judging an output means reading the design and the code at once, and knowing what to refuse. That is exactly what stays in the "decided" column, and that is what you are paying for. The rest came down because the rest genuinely costs less to produce.
Why only two formats?
Because slicing it thinner only creates the illusion of choice. Either you want a site, rebuild or from scratch, and the work is the same seen from two sides. Or your project fits no template, and then it is no longer a site being quoted but a piece to be designed. Between the two there is nothing but a setting.
This "from", how far up does it go?
The two switches on this page show the two most common gaps: art direction to create rather than extend, a landing page on top of the site. Beyond that, it comes down to pages and connections: existing content and existing addresses to carry over, a shop, a business tool to plug in. Each of those is priced before it is built, never at delivery.
How do I know which format I fall into?
In a thirty-minute conversation, free. The question is not the size of the project but its nature: if it fits templates, it is a site; if it needs machinery no template ever planned for, it is a one-off. And a landing page does not replace the site: search engines need a real site to find you, a campaign page comes on top, for one specific audience.
What if the project grows along the way?
We stop and price the difference before doing it. An addition never shows up on the final invoice without having been agreed before it was built.
And after launch?
The site is yours and you edit it yourself, with no compulsory subscription. If you want me to stay in the loop for changes and technical upkeep, we set up a monthly arrangement sized to what you actually need.
Is the rate negotiable?
The scope is, the day rate is not. If the budget does not fit, we take work out rather than cheapen what stays in. A half-done site always costs more than a well-made smaller one.
What is never included in these figures?
Full copywriting: I structure your messages page by page, but handing the writing over entirely is a separate line. Photography and video, neither the shoot nor paid stock libraries. Domain name and hosting, a few dozen euros a year, paid directly by you and in your name: I do not want to stand between you and your keys. Font licences, when the art direction calls for one that is not free. And anything beyond the web: mobile app, business software, connection to an internal tool.
How is it settled?
In three parts: a third on order, a third when the designs are signed off, the balance on launch. Nothing is asked before the project is framed.
How many rounds of revisions are included?
The quote writes them down, along with what is done and what is not. "Unlimited" mostly announces a project that never ends, and nobody wins there.
Do you also work by the day?
Yes, for agency backup or a short assignment. The format gets decided in the first conversation, depending on whether you need a deliverable or a pair of hands.
What about nonprofits?
Based in the Landes, I work with nonprofits at half these figures. Local collaborations that give these skills some meaning.
